A person reads every message. We're small, so it's worth checking the list below first — most of what people write in about has a quicker answer here.

Common questions

A shiur will not open, or the app looks stuck

The text is kept on your device, and a download that got cut off partway can leave a gap. Close the app fully and open it again while you have internet — it finishes what it started. If one particular shiur still won't open, tell us which one and on which date.

The wrong parsha or the wrong day is showing

Check the region setting in the Chumash settings first — the app follows whichever you picked. If that's right and the parsha is still wrong, it's a bug and we want to know: tell us the date.

Your settings did not follow you to another device

Almost nothing syncs, on purpose. Fonts, sizes, layout, brightness, your place in each sefer and any Hebrew birthdays you entered stay on the device and are never sent to us — so they don't travel, and clearing the app's storage clears them for good.

One thing does sync: your Chalukas HaShas selection, and only if you're signed in on both. If that's what went missing, check you're signed in with the same Google account on each. The privacy policy lists everything an account holds.

The wrong day is showing late at night

The day changes at 2am, not midnight. Learning at 1 in the morning still gives you that day's shiur, which is almost always what you want. After 2am it moves on.

Reporting a bug

Four things make a report we can act on. Please include them if you can:

  • Your device — iPhone, Android, iPad, or a computer and which browser.
  • The iOS or Android version, if you can find it.
  • How you're running it — in a browser, or installed on the home screen.
  • Which shiur and which date, and what you saw. A lot of bugs only show up on one date.

A text is wrong

Please tell us, and give the exact place — the sefer, the perek and posuk or the halacha, and what it should say. Corrections are checked before they go in, so the more exact you are the faster it moves.

You want your account and data deleted

There is a page for that, with the full list of what is removed and what may be kept: delete your account. Write from the address you signed in with.

Install the Android app without the Play Store

Download the signed APK from unitythroughtorah.org/apk and open the file on the phone. Android will ask you to allow installs from the browser or Files app for that one install. Prefer Play once the app is listed there — that path updates itself.

Send a message

We don't put an email address on the site — it gets scraped and buried in junk, and then real messages get lost. This goes to the same place.

So we can reply. Nothing else is ever sent to it.

For a bug, the four things listed above — device, OS version, how you are running it, and which shiur on which date.
