A shared kvius.

The daily shiurim of Chitas and Rambam unite you with others who are learning the same Torah each day. Wherever you are, your shiur is part of that shared kvius.

Our work is to help strengthen that kvius: make it easier to find today’s shiur, keep one’s place, and use the available moments throughout the day for learning.

The tzurah of a sefer.

We build for people who are accustomed to learning from a sefer. The loshon hakodesh, the familiar oisiyos and the arrangement of the page are central to that experience.

The loshon hakodesh remains the ikar. When a word or an inyan needs clarification, the translation or biur should be readily available, without getting in the way of the learning.

Kavua, our first app.

Kavua brings Chitas, Rambam and other shiurim into one reader. It is meant to fill the gaps between times with a sefer open: waiting in line, waiting at carpool, or travelling as a passenger.

The name קבוע speaks to kvius in the learning itself. Even when the place is temporary, the familiar tzurah of a sefer helps the learning feel like a hemshech of one’s regular seder.

The reader is available in the browser and as an Android install. The iPhone app is not on the App Store yet.

How we approach the work.

• Keep the loshon hakodesh and the learning at the centre.
• Make the Kavua reader available free of charge, without ads.
• We do not sell information about the people who use our apps.
• Respect the work of mechabrim and publishers, including attribution and permissions. We do not sell seforim. A publisher edition is bought from the publisher.
• Develop tools for both the daily shiurim and a person’s own kvius.
